Yesterday a new world record was reached at the annual “Life Is Good Pumpkin Festival” on the Boston Common. This is a charitable event which raises money for Camp Sunshine, to help children with life-threatening illnesses. Every year, Bostonians try to beat the world record of 30,000 pumpkins gathered. People can bring their already carved pumpkin or carve it on the common. Costume parade, various contests, and face paintings attract many parents and kids to this festival. Last year the amount of pumpkins reached was 24,541 for $182,135 raised. This year the new world record has been reached at 8hPM with 30,128 pumpkins and $250,000 was raised for the Camp Sunshine.
Hier un nouveau record mondial a été atteint au festival annuel « Life Is Good Pumpkin » sur le Boston Common. C’est un évènement caritatif qui lève des fonds au bénéfice du Camp Sunshine pour aider les enfants atteints de maladies mortelles. Chaque année les bostoniens tentent de battre le record mondial de 30.000 citrouilles rassemblées. Chacun peut apporter sa citrouille déjà sculptée ou la sculpter sur place. Un défilé de déguisements, divers concours et des séances de maquillage attirent un grand nombre de parents et d’enfants à ce festival. L’année dernière, le nombre des citrouilles collectées a atteint le chiffre de 24.541 et un montant de $182.135. Cette année, le nouveau record mondial a été atteint à 8h avec 30.128 et $250.000 qui iront au Camp Sunshine.

Et derriere cette tour de citrouilles il y a encore des centaines qui sont rangées en ligne comme des petits soldats et sculptées de differentes façons.
En effet Alice, quand toutes les citrouilles ont été rassemblées, à la tombée de la nuit, chacun allume sa bougie.

I think you eat the meat of the pumpkin after you've cleaned it out to carve it. So after Halloween and the carving , you only have the shell left...nothing to eat.
Roasting the seeds on a tray in the oven with some salt is delicious too.
