Spring time in Winter


On the Common, known to be one of the oldest public parks in the country, Bostonians are enjoying the sunny warm weather in winter. Weather swings, in this part of New England, are not unusual. Despite the temperature (70 degrees!), a patch of snow still remains as winter is dying out. It is hard to imagine that back in XVII century, Quakers and heretics were hanged here.

Sur le Common, un des parcs publics les plus anciens des Etats-Unis, les bostoniens profitent d’une chaude journée ensoleillée d’hiver. Il n’est pas rare de voir de telles variations brutales de température en plein hiver en Nouvelle Angleterre. Malgré la chaleur (20 degrés Celsius), de la neige persiste encore, dernières traces hivernales. Il est difficile d’imaginer qu’au XVIIème siècle, des Quakers et des hérétiques furent pendus ici même.

Great choice and a unique moment to catch! I didn't know about the hangings, though...
