Postcard from...

Here is a photo from our vacation, far from Boston! Can you guess where this picture has been taken? Hint: this is in the US.

More hints: it is not in Alaska, it is in one of the West Coast states, and it is a volcano... It is not Mount Adams, neither Mount Jefferson, but it is close...

Monique found the answer: this is Mt Hood, the picture is taken from the Trilium Lake near by. You can't see them from there, but there are people skiing on that side.

"Topography: Mt. Jefferson is the dominant feature of this High Cascades area, along with Three Fingered Jack (7,841'). Mt. Jefferson's slopes are mantled by five glaciers: Whitewater, Waldo, Milk Creek, Russell, and Jefferson Park. Other geographic features include steep talus slopes, rock outcrops, and alpine meadows. There are over 150 lakes, many stocked with trout."

Even closer, but it is not Mt Jefferson! Try another time and you will get it right..

Wherever it is, the scenery is wonderful. Canoe travel is a great deal of fun and effort. Looks as though you're having a great trip!

Oh man, I'm too late. That was an easy question! Now, have you tried any of that good Tillamook cheese while you're there?

Bonjour Monique,
Super! C'est bien ce que je pensais :-)

Hi Michael,
Nope, but we ate many tasty and juicy fruits. We also saw the fabulous Tillamook air museum where vintage aircraft are displayed. This huge hangar (the largest wood hangar in the world) is quite an amazing place!
