Play the Master!

Harvard Square is world-renowned for its famous university, but it is also a great place to spend time with friends, listen to music, and watch street performers. For two dollars, you can even try to beat the chess master. With his straw hat, he smokes a cigar, always ready for a keen competition. When the game is over, he strangely shoots at the trees with his water gun as a sign of victory.

I think I saw that guy last time I was in Boston. I get beat by 5th graders in chess so I'm not going to pay to get beat by "the master".

This is one of your best photos and stories put together! I hadn't noticed the water pistol until I read your commentary. How funny!

Hello Ryan,
LOL. Actually, this "master" seems to be very hard to beat... Did he wear the same straw hat?

Bonjour Olivier,

Hey Michael,
Many thanks for your compliment. It's cool you enjoyed this chess master's post since I liked it too. Besides, thanks alot for pointing me out Honolulu's tribute to my blog. I'll go check.

I couldn't possibly play, my $2 investment would be lost extremely quickly. But if it was a playstation table, I'd join in for sure!

Personally I find the hat quite attractive. Is he single?

Hi John, jazzy and Carmen,
LOL... Thanks for stopping by at this chess table. I agree with you, I found his hat and water gun pretty cool. As for a playstation table, I'd be happy to join too:-)

Hi Kala,
You got it, this is the terrace of "Au bon pain" where we had lunch. Thanks a lot for your nice praise. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in Boston and took also the opportunity to post very interesting photos and comments in your Honolulu blog while you were here. It was really cool.

Hello Photonomad,
