Live Your Light! Ranimez vos flambeaux!

Legendary guitarist Carlos Santana was performing for his “Live Your Light” tour in Boston on Friday. The concert tinted with its usual subtle melange of Latino-jazz-rock-soul rhythms was a real treat.

Santana, who is involved in numerous humanitarian and pacifists causes, started the concert with a video in the background displaying messages of peace, love and solidarity.

Among the great moments of this vibrant evening were, of course, the long and outstanding solos with its unique sound and techniques on the guitar played by Santana, but also the brilliant bass guitar solos played by Benny Rietveld as well as the Dennis Chambers drums solos with its amazing endurance, who, despite the frenzied rhythm, can still play with an incredible relaxed-attitude which he turns into a game. Le légendaire guitariste Carlos Santana a fait une escale à Boston dans le cadre de sa tournée “Live Your Light”. Le concert teinté de son habituel subtil mélange de rythmes jazzy-rock et soul était un vrai régal.

Santana qui participe à de nombreuses causes humanitaires et pacifistes a débuté le concert avec une vidéo en arrière plan, empreinte de messages de paix, d’amour et de solidarité.

Parmi les grands moments de cette vibrante soirée, il y eut bien sûr les longs solos au son et aux jeux de guitare uniques au monde joués par Santana, mais aussi les superbes solos du bassiste Benny Rietveld et ceux du batteur Dennis Chambers avec son endurance étonnante et qui, malgré le rythme endiablé, peut jouer néanmoins avec une incroyable décontraction qu'il transforme en un jeu de scène.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra is now going to perform Beethoven Piano Concerto no5, Emperor, interpreted by renowned pianist Leon Fleisher, here at the Symphony Hall. This concert hall is considered to be one of the best in the world due to its exceptional acoustics. Built in 1900, it was also the first auditoria to apply new scientific techniques in acoustics developed by physicist Wallace Clement Sabine from Harvard. Everything was designed to obtain the best sound everywhere in the auditorium: the coffered ceiling, the shallow balconies, the floor of the stage and the walls built all sloped inward. The Symphony Hall also features a magnificent symphonic Aeolian-Skinner Pipe Organ, which is one the world's largest in the world.
