Fasten your seat belts!

This plane is about to land at Logan International Airport, located almost in the center of Boston. Logan has a record of being one of the 20 busiest airports in the United States, with well over 27 million passengers each year. The airport was named after general Edward Lawrence Logan who fought during World War I in France. When landing, the passengers have a wonderful view of Boston’s skyline, featured in the background of this photo.

Flying over water is exhilerating for the passengers, I imagine. But maybe the pilots think it's old hat.

Nice perspective. Were you out on the water?
BTW- What is going on with the Red Sox? They are killing me.

Hi orange county, yes, I was on the water (on a boat) when I took this picture....it is true that the Red Sox are doing unusally bad this season :(

Hi Annie, you're right, and it's especially exciting when you are about to land on the runway which is so close to the water!!!

Hey Everyone,
That plane looks like a fish out of water!
I am interested in doing a little photography myself. Since most of you are photographers, what camera would you suggest for a beginner?
Oh and by the way, Alex, your blog is way cool. :)

I agree with mar Alex, your blog is way cool! What were you doing out on a boat? Fishing?

Mar,

Depends the price range you're looking at, how small you want the camera to be, how good quality pictures, etc.

Ok, price range = 250-300 bucks.
The best I can get with that! Something a little user friendly..The smaller the camera the better.. ball's in your court! :)

For that price, you probably can't go wrong with the Casio Exilim EX-Z600. It's no more than $300 and is currently the best rated camera for that price. It's got a huge screen, takes pictures at 6 megapixels (which is very high quality) and seems to be pretty user friendly with not so many buttons. It also has 3x zoom lens and 4x digital zoom.

And if you shop on eBay, you can get it for $270 new with waranty with a 1Gb storage memory card (you'll need one to store pictures on the camera). You can also take a look at the camera on the listing:

Good luck!

Thanks mar,... maybe a huge flying fish, who knows? :-)
I am not a photographer; just very enthusiastic about taking pictures. Our camera is an old HP photosmart 5.1 MP so we plan to buy a better one one.
By the way mar, your blog "je pense donc je suis" is a wonderful site of inspiring thoughts and drawings. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Hi Michael, well! maybe we're trying to catch a huge fliying fish... ;-
Actually, not fishing but on our way back from our previous post, Georges Island. We couldn't have a better day. It was great.

Great capture of this scene. Amazing! I'm thinking that's a windsurfer zipping along, as I don't think you have whales cavorting in Boston Harbor like we do in the Sound out here :^). Love this "on the water" shot.
