Bird-watcher associations report that over 300 bird species live in the city of Boston. A hawk is resting on a window sill of a high raised business building, in the middle of the city of Cambridge. The background shows the Charles River and downtown Boston. Hawks in Cambridge feed themselves with mice and squirrels found in the open space surrounding MIT.

Excellent photo Alex! How did you do it? Those claws look very sharp!
Yes Alex I agree with Michael. Superb photo. How did you manage to come so close?
Was worth the wait, anyway!! ;))
Wow, this is really cool...look at those claws!

Photo request: I'd love a juicy lobster from Legal Seafoods, but maybe a photo will have to do!
Hello from Cedar Key....Love your photos, especially since I'm a former Bostonian....Salem, to be exact. I'll be adding your link to my blog and will visit here often.
michael, eric> One of my father's collegues took the picture. The hawk used to come every day. I guess he could not see inside the building because the windows are tinted. He was then able to get very close without being seen.

Alex, again, I thought I knew almost everything there was to know about Boston... I never imagined that we had falcons right in the city of Boston! I see that they feed themselves with mice and SQUIRRELS. I know somebody who would be thrilled to have a falcon right in his own backyard to help in his squirrel extermination project.
Jose
Jose> LOL! :-)
